This is an arrangement used to pass water from upstream to downstream of stop log and emergency gates for creating balanced conditions, which is required for lifting the emergency gates. This system consists of a pipeline of suitable diameter connecting the upstream lake to the conduit portion downstream of stop log or the EG with control valve for regulating the discharge.
